OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS!The Business and Employment Opportunity Fair (BEOF) is an enterprise brought about by five individuals and business owners that desire to make a difference in the world around them. BEOF will stage opportunity fairs, otherwise known as OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS EVENTS, in cities throughout the United States. These opportunity fairs will provide a myriad of resources for the underemployed. BEOF will pick up where employment fairs leave off. BEOF will also go further, providing valuable motivational education intended to enrich the attendees with new entrepreneurial mindsets that will allow them to realize greater financial success. This financial success may come from more effectively competing for available job opportunities, in obtaining valuable retraining, or in starting or buying a business. Opportunity Comes From All Directions

America is changing. Our economy is shifting. Opportunity is evolving.The 20th century saw the dawn of the industrial revolution. Prior to that, people worked for themselves. The industrial revolution brought us millions of standardized jobs. Education also changed, creating curriculums that taught students the tools they would need in their future employment in the myriad of industries that developed. As technology advanced, bringing us consumer staples such as radios, TVs, cars, and microwaves, America became a fairly streamlined place, where people drove to work, put in their 9 hours, drove home, put dinner in the oven or microwave, and turned on the TV to be entertained during the remaining free time they had. Things were simple...but not anymore.Today we live in a truly global environment. Our industry, education, entertainment, and economics are no longer isolated, but intertwined with the rest of the world. This seismic shift has and will continue to profoundly alter the American concept of OPPORTUNITY. America, once the home of most of the world's manufacturing enterprises, has transitioned into a predominantly service economy. Through workplace technological innovations and the transformation of third world countries into low cost manufacturing hubs, America's traditional manufacturing job base has been decimated.The UnderemployedThe dramatic effects of this transformation were substantially hidden by government and Federal Reserve efforts to blow bubbles, most specifically the real estate bubble, which created millions of construction jobs. Since this bubble has burst, all of those workers are now part of the ever growing class of Underemployed. This class includes not only those who have lost their jobs, but also those that earn less than they would like, whether in a job or in their own business. These underemployed, measuring somewhere around 15 - 20% of the current American workforce, cannot seem to find OPPORTUNITY, and many cannot adequately take care of themselves and their families, resulting in a tremendous increase in dissolutionment and despair.How We Want To HelpOur Mission with BEOF is to make a difference in the lives of the underemployed by accomplishing four tasks:1. Help our attendees pull out of a "fear and dispair" emotional state and mindset, so that they will be in a better position to answer the door when OPPORTUNITY knocks; 2. Help our attendees understand that in the world of today OPPORTUNITY comes in many different forms.3. Provide our attendees with an introduction to entrepreneurship and how an entrepreneurship mindset can transform their lives, whether by starting or buying a business, or by becoming more value-driven in their job.4. Introduce our attendees to dynamic direct selling companies, unique brick and mortor businesses, exceptional staffing counselors, educational retraining sources., and valuable and needed products and services.Our GoalBy accomplishing these four tasks with BEOF, we hope to equip our attendees with a positive, powerful and purposeful attitude that will allow them to find OPPORTUNITY from wherever it comes.

EVENT SUMMARY

HOUR ONE: MINDSET SHIFT

During the first hour of the event, attendees will be led in an interactive journey focused on the goal of incorporating in the attendee a mindset of entrepreneurship. Developing a mindset of entrepreneurship will equip the attendee with a framework to more effectively compete in the job and business environments.

HOUR TWO: RESOURCES

During the second hour, attendees will be able to visit with some prospective employers and Sponsors, and learn from our Sponsors about some really important topics, including:

* Learn from our staffing and resume companies how to "increase your value proposition", to make yourself and your written presentation more competitive in finding the job you seek.

As BEOF Opportunity Knocks events are held at unique, different venues around the country, the venue for any particular event may or may not have space around the table in which to place exhibit easels. Therefore, check with the BEOF Event Sponsor Chair for information on the particulars of the event location. All Sponsors will have one hour prior to event start time in which to set up their table. All table set-up should be done in an orderly fashion. The use of exhibits that include food, water, chemicals, electricity, multi-media, or special affects require prior approval by BEOF. Such approval must be obtained at least two (2) weeks prior to the event date. Check with the Event Sponsor Chair for details on the approval process or with any questions. No signage or exhibits which include profane language or visuals are allowed. BEOF will create an event flyer as well as internet and other medium advertising. BEOF shall provide flyers and links to other advertising to all Sponsors for their use in marketing the event to their customers and contacts. Sponsors are free to create their own advertising concerning their involvement in the BEOF event as long as such advertising is in no way misleading concerning their role in said event or regarding the event itself. BEOF will provide an opportunity for all attendees to approve being contacted by event Sponsors. A list of phone numbers and email addresses of all Attendees agreeing to such contact will be provided to all Full-Table, Half-Table and Event Sponsors after the event.
